On the morning of August 07th, India woke up to a tragic video that quickly became viral on social media. The video showed a thirty years old woman (who looked forty from her face!), revealing how her husband used to commit domestic violence in her home.
He harassed her for having two daughters instead of a son and beat her for not bringing enough money from her home (as dowry — a wedding gift which is given by the girl’s family to the girl at the wedding!).
The woman is seen crying in the video and narrating her life story —
I am really very sad and depressed. It has been eight years now. I have tried my best to keep things normal. I was beaten up every day. I have been suffering with him, and taking his beatings, thinking that he will improve someday. But no, he beat me up for eight years. Had extra-marital affairs with multiple women.
